MS discontinued back up for IE on a Mac in Dec 2005.

No I do not have any Microsoft products including Windows8.1 on my Mac

Then the answer is no, you cannot install Internet Explorer equally a standalone application on a Mac.

Oh, I forgot I do have 'Microsoft OfficeMac' which includes Give-and-take, Xcel, Powerpoint and Entourage. I don't understand why I tin can't install information technology - isn't it a browser similar Safari, Chrome and Firefox? I alternate between these browsers when I am on my Mac. Delight explain if you can. Thanks

Yes, IE is a browser similar to Safari, Chrome and Firefox merely IE is part & parcel of the Windows Operating System.

Since it'due south not offered as a standalone application, yous cannot install information technology.

Cheers for explaining - the reason being is that a company that I am applying for a job requires IE only for the interview which is scheduled at 5 pm tomorrow and I have to log in - the company says to use ONLY IE because they take issues with the other browsers - sounds similar a corking job offering but information technology looks like I am going to have to laissez passer it up because "I don't practise Windows" LOL

Do yous have a friend or relative who has a Windows computer? How about your local library? Chances are it has Windows computers.

Yes I am aware of the library with Windows and my current job has PC Windows also. This was a part time position I was applying for where I would need the reckoner at home (work at home) for 8 hours each day. I did the interview this afternoon as scheduled with Safari and information technology worked simply fine simply during the interview it specifically said NO Macs! Oh well idea I could sneek in but its not going to happen. Cheers for all of your help
